Every time a new non-stop route out of Sea-Tac is announced there's a little endorphin party inside of Seattlest's head because the easier it is for us to get out to the world and the easier it is for the world to get in to Seattle the better for everyone. You rub off on us, we'll rub off on you. Last time we noted a new route it was Seattle/Paris. Easy tourist destination--screw you, Rick, we're using the front door. We're still convinced we should raise hell about Airbuses being used for those flights...
This week's announced route is to Mexico which is interesting on its surface because Mexico City is kind of an unexpected non-stop destination from Seattle. Although we've never been, we perceive that a lot of people like to head down to Puerto Vallarta and similar resorty type destinations in Mexico. Tourism is boring, though, and Mexico City doesn't strike us as a particularly popular tourist destination. Sure, you can probably connect to flights to Puerto Vallarta from Mexico City, but it seems more like a business flight or a going-home-to-visit-the-fam type of flight, both of which are a lot more interesting than beach shuttles. And Aeromexico is going to be flying the route with 737s.
