What's On Tap: Tuesday, April 24

Are you a hophead? If you are, get your butt up to Cooper's Alehouse on Lake City Way on the north side of the city. Their 5th Annual IPA Festival is currently in full swing. They have some very tasty beers on tap and more on the way.

Cooper's is a very relaxed place. With lots of great beers, plenty of TVs (with sports on them!!!) and $2.75 pint specials all night on Thursdays, it is the perfect place to grab a pint and relax.

Their IPA Festival runs through April 30th, but the sooner you get there the better. Try any of the following offerings if you see them on tap. They will be there at some point, just depends on when they tap them. And when we finish drinking them.

Snoqualmie Falls Wildcat IPA - Great IPA from this wonderful brewpub out near the falls. Fairly light with lots of pine hops. One of our favorite local IPAs.

Double Dry Hopped Lazy Boy IPA - Lazy Boy, from Everett, has a very tasty IPA in the first place. But, take a bunch of hops and dry hop the hell out of a keg and now you're talking. Pure hops...lots of pine and citrus. I love it.

Stone Ruination IPA - Ahhh, another one of our favorites. This IPA from this SoCal brewer is a perfect example of a "West Coast IPA". Pure bitter hops and nothing else is what you get from this. Yum.

Oskar Blues Gordon - Um, yeah. This "Imperial Amber Ale" (whatever; it's an IPA) from Colorado is awesome. Tons of floral and citrus hops, but backed very well with sweet malt. It is not too bitter, and not too sweet. Just good. The best thing about it, you can buy Oskar Blues beers in cans. We've even seen them at places such as City Market in Capital Hill.

If you happen to hate hops, they do have a few non-IPAs on tap. Coopers also has a full bar.
