Get Out: Weekend Dance -- Pulp Mountain Festival

MountainJumping.JPG
PULP: Featuring four different dancemakers -- Alianna Jaqua (Seattle), Laura Curry (Seattle), Keith Johnson (Long Beach), and Daniel Charon (NYC) -- PULP offers solos, a trio, quartet, and an ensemble of six. Performed by the women of d9 Dance Collective, it's supposed to include provocation, emotional appeal, and some wacky fun. We believe it.

April 20-22, 27-29 // 8pm // Velocity Dance Center, Odd Fellows Hall // Tickets: $15 general/$13 students

MOUNTAIN: Three Northwest dancers -- Gaelen Hanson, Peggy Piacenza, and Amelia Reeber -- create the Seattle premiere of Mountain, a trio and 3 solos. It was choreographed by Deborah Hay, a founding member of the Judson Dance Theatre in New York, and developed in workshops with the performers. [Seattle Times preview, Oregonian review]

April 20-21 // 8pm // On the Boards // Tickets: $18

CELEBRATE SEATTLE: As we mentioned earlier, "This is Week 3 of Pacific Northwest Ballet's Celebrate Seattle Festival, and the busiest one. There's the cunningly named Program A, Program B, and Program C, all highlighting the work of locally born or spent-some-time-here choreographers. Plus, one of our favorite good times, 10 Tiny Dances is performing One Tiny Dance in the lobby at intermissions."

A: Sunday 1pm; B: Saturday 2pm; C: Friday, Saturday 7:30pm, Sunday 7pm// McCaw Hall // Tickets $20-$80
