Shopping Via RSS at Nordstrom.com
Seattlest is more a Nordstrom Rack customer than Nordstrom proper shopper and we're not really interested in an RSS feed telling us that the Rack has a new shipment of six hundred thousand unsorted and unwanted shoes for us to pick through, but we realize that some people actually might be interested in up-to-the-minute information on the contents of the virtual shelves at Nordstrom.com. Enter Nordstrom RSS.
Go to http://rss.nordstrom.com and you'll get forwarded to an information page, or do a search for your favorite hard-to-find consumable and just click the orange RSS icon in the address bar of your browser. Voila. Please don't try to horn in on Seattlest's search, though.

“We’re excited to offer RSS feeds to our customers. Fashion is constantly evolving, and by giving our customers the opportunity to see what’s new on our site in real time, we’re giving them even more of an opportunity to stay current,” said Jamie Nordstrom, president of Nordstrom Direct. “We see this tool as a way to offer customers a more efficient way to shop for the products they’re looking for.”RSS is an easy way to deliver information about recently posted content. By plugging a link into an RSS reader, customers can retrieve the newest content offerings for their favorite Web sites while saving the time it takes to actually visit each site. RSS can be delivered to search engines, specialized RSS directories and special content aggregation sites.
