We Ended Up In Conference Room C

Seattle has some truly wonderful public conference rooms: Room A has that unmistakable Capitol Hill decor, while Room B evokes the Puget Sound. Room C, pictured above, has the coveted Space Needle imagery. Quite a few attendees were already there by 4pm, but we found a spot just in time for the conference call.

We weren't aware there was going to be a conference call, but there was. A middle-aged tourist couple sat down next to us, placed a call in to "mom" (their corporate HQ?), and put her on speaker phone for the next 45 minutes. We learned a) that they're planning on having Strudel (product codename?) for dinner (launch date?) and b) that their company is in critical condition: "So are they still draining blood from your heart? How much? About a cup?" Again, clearly some kind of code. We're not buying that someone sitting in a crowded public park shouted that via speaker phone to their actual mom. No sir. Because then we'd have to kill them.
