Baby on Road
There's been many an ode penned to the backseat lovechild, but not so much the "caught in rush-hour traffic delivery." There in our news feed we spied the unusual byproduct of increased traffic congestion: roadside baby deliveries. In what the Seattle Times is calling a "rash of roadway births" (augh), the 4th King County Interstate-5 baby was delivered yesterday.
But this phenomenon must have cropped up already in more congested areas of the country already, right? What of Los Angeles? Apparently by 2000, they were already up to 207 births in Los Angeles county alone.
If Seattlest was an I-5 baby, we'd make ourself a road-side sign out of some Peeps "Just Born" boxes, and go stick it in the shoulder. That little stretch of freeway would be our birthright.

I'm glad I gave birth in a hospital and not along I-5. I don't think the sign for gas, food, and lodging would be a very good focal point during labor.
