I picked up a dozen of those tasty chocolate cupcakes from Sugar Shack and I proudly say that I am an addict! And the customer service is wonderful.

definitely have to disagree with you on trophy cupcakes. of the few i've tried from trophy, cupcake royale is far superior. it goes beyond the size/cost element (though i did note that trophy is charging more for less). the "lemon" frosting at trophy was sugary, buttery, but mostly devoid of lemon. on st. patrick's day, they told me it would another 20min until their guinness stout cupcakes would be available, and wallingford center doesn't have much to convince me to sit around & wait. i settled on the devil's food which was decent if a little dry. it seems as if they pretty much only ever have chocolate or vanilla varieties available consistently. i will give them kudos for the chai cupcake, though. that was damn good.

That's it: tomorrow morning, Sugar Shack before work, come hell, high water, or a late departure. I tried Tropy Cupcakes this weekend, though, and those are mighty good. For cupcakes, anyway; I'm not high on the trend, though it quickly became obvious that Cupcake Royale's been benefitting from a monopoly.

Sugar, nothing... the West Seattle business that should be worried about Sugar Shack is Cupcake Royale. The Sugar Shack fudge-frosted cupcake is easily the new cupcake queen of this town.

I have a problem with Seattlest's use of the word "Seattle" in its name. It's so frustrating that so many blogs and local news outlets use this word! I also have major issues with your use of ".com" -- very confusing.

What's with all of the soup joints with Pho at the beginning of their name, anyway! I see major lawsuits on the horizon. ;-)
