My guess is we'll be tutt-tutting far stranger things than amputee-fetishism by then: things like human-robot sex, radical genital reconfigurations (I'm not talking gender reassignment surgery here, but things we haven't even dreamed up yet), extreme BDSM activities that make branding & suspension look like child's play. I figure just the stuff that Warren Ellis posts on his website (warrenellis.com) on a regular basis (most of it apparently culled from extreme body-modification web sites) represents only the tip of the proverbial ice berg, sexual-deviation-wise, and those are things people are doing to themselves - and to each other - right now.</p>
