Get Out
SPELLING BEES: The Re-bar's adult spelling bee was on Evening Magazine recently so there may be an even stronger turnout than usual.
Doors at 7pm // Re-bar // $5
MOVIES: Seattlest and Mrs. Seattlest jumped in the car this weekend for a cruise up to the cheap theater for Academy Award winner The Departed. It was packed, with every single seat occupied by a warm ass--go early. Also, be careful on the drive home. We heard this movie aptly described as a "non-stop dick measuring contest" recently. Your mileage may vary, but we found we were a little aggro on the trip back down I-5 and when we gave other drivers the finger we did it with a Southie accent.
7:45pm // The Crest // $3
GRAPHIC NOVELS: Art Spiegelman won a Pulitzer Prize with a graphic novel and then spent a cool decade at the New Yorker. He'll be talking tonight about In the Shadow of No Towers which he started writing on September, 11.
7:30pm // Benaroya Hall // $20-$25/$10
MOVIES: The Corsican Brothers is a 16mm classic from the personal collection of Philip Borgnes. Siamese twins are separated and lead separate lives until they are reunited 20 years on.
7pm // Central Cinema
