There' a constant ebb and flow when it comes to the music we love. Sometimes it seems like there's just nothing interesting out there. Nothing to light us up when we listen at home, in our car or on the bus, eyes closed. And then sometimes we find ourselves hauling fist-fulls of new music to the counter of our favorite record store.
This week we've been all about Aqueduct's Or Give Me Death, Jesse Sykes and the Sweet Hereafter's Like Love Lust & the Open Fields of the Soul and Band of Horses' Everything All The Time. Yeah we know, we're way behind on that one. Oh, and The Shins' Wincing the Night Away, of course. But that's kind of a given.
Here's what people around town have been buying. What's been perking you up recently?

One of Seattle's best bands is playing a show at Neumos later this month: Kultur Shock. Their third album came out last year, We Come To Take Your Jobs Away, and they got back from a two-month tour of Europe around New Year's Eve. So they've had a bit of down-time to rest up for the show. If you've never heard them, they're like Seattle's answer to Gogol Bordello. Whereas GB goes the punk route, Kultur Shock's closer to metal, sang but a former Serbian pop-star. Seriously killer stuff.
