A few days of awful publicity later, the website of Americans United to Preserve Marriage, the anti-gay-marriage organization bankrolled by Sonics owners, is now "under construction."
Tom Ward donated $475K and Aubrey McClendon $625K to the organization in 2004. Josh Feit broke this story on Slog, where a commenter pointed out that the WNBA team payroll cap that year was only $647K. McClendon practically could've paid for the whole team himself with money he instead used to back an effort to halt civil rights progress. Go team!

The ISC has steadily flowed money into far rightwing causes. They have attempted to hedge their bet a bit with a stray donation to a democrat but if you crunch the number the massive bulk of their money goes to far Rightwing politicians. Of course Postman might want to ignore this since he just loves NASCAR.
NASCAR’s Richard Petty ran as a Republican.
Because Richard Petty is a Republican, that's why
