Huskies On the Board in Fulmer Cup

m_houston_cab.jpegThe Washington Huskies have scored their first points in the Fulmer Cup, an annual competition to see which college football team is the lawbreaking-est.

The indispensable, hilarious college football blog Every Day Should Be Saturday started and adjudicates the Fulmer Cup, awarding points for every legal run-in by a team's players, and tallying them at the end of the year. (The cup is named for Tennessee coach Philip Fulmer, whose players may be volunteers, but aren't always angels).

Marshall University was the 2006 Fulmer Cup winner, scoring 15 points (five for this).

Husky transfer Michael Houston, who's yet to play a game in purple, scored Fulmer Cup points for the Dawgs now that police have charged him with a variety of crimes stemming from his night of alleged drinking, strip club visiting, and taxi cab theft. We reported it here when it happened in October. Here's how EDSBS scores it:

If we had a puppy for every time we’d stolen a cab after a long night at the strip club, we’d be completely puppy-less. We know that strange predilections surface when people get trashed. In fact, we’ve known people who like to steal hats, other people’s pants, and fight with shrubbery when drunk.

Taxi cabs, though, represent a new low in unbrained drunken behavior. First, they’re bright yellow, and impossible to hide. Second, they have ID numbers written all over them. Third, they smell odd under the best of circumstances. And fourth, they usually come with a driver attempting to pay his/her rent using it, a person who will probably be very reluctant to give the cab up without a fight.

Total points: Two for the moment. We reserve the right to upgrade if tales of shennanigans surface.

We have no quibble with the points, although we would like to see the Cougs awarded some retroactively because The Game went there.
