Secured Walker Tickets for the Vancouver, BC reunion of The Police were sold out in under three minutes, sort of. Seeing them performing together again on the Grammy Awards show this month made us nostalgic for the soundtrack of our elementary school years. And now we learn that tickets for the June 6th show at Key Arena go on pre-sale tomorrow morning at 10 AM for members of The Police Tour Fan Club.

What is The Police Tour Fan Club, you might ask? Apparently, the Fan Club is an elite group of devoted enthusiasts who go to the tour Web site and pay $100 for access to tickets before they go on sale to "the public" on Saturday morning. You can even become a member when you purchase pre-sale tickets. If Vancouver is anything to go by, just add $100 to your ticket price and maybe you'll get a seat.

None of this is terribly surprising. It just sadly confirms that we are just a half-step behind the baby-boomers who shell out hundreds to see Mick Jagger and his geriatric troupe wiggle their hip replacements onstage. In order to stave off middle age, we won't attend the show. But we suspect that on June 6th we'll feel as left out as poor Henry Padovani.

Actually, if you have a Best Buy Reward card, you can get in on the pre-sale by snagging a promo code from the Best Buy site. :)

Google the bit about Sting at theonion -- it was true eight years ago and it remains true today.

Now, I always had a smidgen of respect for not just writing a hit song about schoolroom pedophilia (rather quaint now in that it involves a male teacher and a female student) but managing to namecheck Nabokov in a rhyme. Still, it's a almost-vanished smidgen, rather like what's left of the man's hair.

The only reunions I'm interested in are the ones that will never happen either because the most important person is dead or because somebody would get killed.

That said, I'm sure the Soundgarden reunion tour is just a matter of time...

(Speaking of which -- wow, there's another guy in the Pete Best - Chris Dreja - Jason Everman "Just Missed" Hall of unFame?)
