Last Call for Aqueduct

orgivemedeath.jpg

Have we mentioned that we're really enjoying the new Aqueduct? Because we are. Pitchfork hasn't weighed in on Or Give Me Death just yet, but we're fully expecting a glowing review. How could they not appreciate David Terry's catchy-ass pop songs chockful of witty lyrics? Come on! Do yourself a favor and stream the album here. Or, y'know, you could go out and buy it, now that it's available for purchase.

So, one more time: To celebrate today's release of this sure-to-be-lauded album--and Aqueduct's all-ages in-store at Easy Street Queen Anne on Friday night--Seattlest is giving away some sweet swag: a copy of Or Give Me Death, a copy of the previous album I Sold Gold, and an Aqueduct poster. Two lucky ducks get these prize packs. Fill out the form below with your name and email for a chance to win. We'll be drawing two winners tomorrow from the entries received, so don't delay.

The Shins in-store was excellent. Short set (of course), but good sound quality / mix -- and I think I liked that version of "Phantom Limb" (with an interesting syncopated organ rhythm part) better than the one on the album.

They announced the performance will eventually be available as a CD (like the Pearl Jam in-store, which is on sale now) so those of you that missed it (or the radio broadcast) will still get a chance to hear it.

I was amazed the place wasn't packed out -- I got there about 15 minutes before they went on stage and easily got close enough to the stage (even found parking almost across the street). Much better than Mudhoney or They Might Be Giants. These noontime shows rock.
