Hello to You, Too, Deborah

RadioRadio.jpgYesterday morning, as we were getting ready to leave for work, we heard Deborah Brandt mention to Harmon Shay that "this is the last Monday we'll be doing this together." Yup -- with a week to go, Brandt announced her upcoming departure on air.

She went on to tell Harmon that the news was published in the newspaper a few weeks ago -- and that she's already heard some people say so long, good riddance, just get to the traffic, will ya?

And we felt...a little guilty, actually. As we pointed out, even when we gleefully celebrated this news, Brandt seems like a very nice person.

Then we realized that we're all grownups. We're sure Brandt, like any media pro, has had her share of irrational hatred thrown her way, and we're nowhere near that nuts. While we've certainly wished she'd get to the traffic, we were happy to hear she's moving on to (one presumes) better things.

So our guilt passed. And Harmon, ever the gentleman, pointed out that they'd miss her at the station. And we felt a little impressed that our spur-of-the-moment blog rant rippled all the way to "Morning Edition."

Unless she thought we were Dan Savage.
