Blood guts and ferryboats. It's the Grey's you've all been waiting for. But first,
Grey's girls are using some questionable coping methods. Meredith submerges herself in the bathtub; Izzy cops to eating a whole tub of butter.
Hold the drama, mamas, cause we got some trauma! As promised, this Grey's "event" produces major carnage after a ferryboat smashes into a dock. Yeah, you know, ferryboats? The ones McDreamy loves so much? Well, he's got the good sense not to wear his ferryboat-print surgeon's do-rag to the scene.
And what a scene. Arms akimbo, severed limbs, oh! Alex even finds a pregnant lady (it's always a pregnant lady) trapped underneath a concrete pylon, and pulls her free. Go Alex! Might this be the turning point that prompts him to commit to ob-gyn? Or perhaps not. Check the lady's face and you'll see she also needs some major plastics.
Everyone runs around in SGH-emblazoned anoraks, while KOMO 4 reports live from the scene. And yes, a Seattle Times newspaper box makes is placed right outside the hospital door (As if urbanites didn't prefer the P-I)
Clearly, this is not a reality show. If it were it would be much more like ER in its prime. Instead we get a flustered Izzy trying, sort of, to save a man trapped under a truck, a freaky lost girl clinging to Meredith, and Cristina and Burke bickering over how, when, and to whom to reveal their engagement. Cristina, no one wants to see your bling right now. Deal with it.
Meredith finally gets freaky lost girl to assist her with a badly injured man, but when he convulses he kicks her into the drink and the girl, shocked, just stares. It ain't no bathtub, that's the Puget Sound, and Meredith is fixin' to drown! Can McDreamy save her? Can Izzy actually pull off being a doctor? Tune in next week for Ferryboats II: Grey's Catastrophe.

If you don't know what "akimbo" means, you should by no means feel pressured to use it in a sentence.
I thought the ferry collided with a container ship in the fog? The ferry terminal probably wouldn't do that kind of damage. Also, I'm sure the WSDOT loves this episode.
