About The Comments And The RSS At Seattlest
We suck. For over a week our RSS has been messed and depending on your news reader it may have stopped updating or been generally flakey. There was some invalid code on the site and some news readers care about things like that and will up and quit on a feed if it won't validate. We should have that squared away now, but if we don't and you're still experiencing problems with either of our feeds (1 or 2) please email or comment to let us know.
We've also been hard at work protecting the world from total domination by spammers which means there have been some drastic changes to the backend functionality of our commenting system. We'll let our marketing VP Seattlest Seth take that one:
We know how much our readers love commenting, so we've implemented some short-term changes to the site to make commenting even more fun and easy!--When you post your comment, you get a fun, friendly, 500 Internal Service Error, but your comment shows up anyway...or not!
--Sometimes when you post your comment, the site starts loading, and loading, and loading, and never ever stops!
--Or sometimes other weird shit happens!
Our technical overlords assure us that these great changes will continue only until comments are
fixedreimplemented. In the meantime, enjoy!
That is to say, we're working on it. The last thing we want is for commenting on the site to be at all difficult or inconvenient. Well, actually the last thing we want is for RSS to be broken and you not to be able to read us... The next to last thing we want is for commenting to be broken. Please continue trying while we work through these issues and please email if you've got a particularly good dig that won't post to the site.
