Get Out

Banksy_web1.jpgMUSIC: Chicago's Kate Simko was last in town to play the Decibel Festival, where she wowed those in attendance with her lush, melodic techno. She's back in town to support her latest release for local boutique label Kupei, a collaboration under the Detalles alias.

10pm // VIP Room (under Neumos), 1425 10th Ave // $5

TOYS AS ART: BLVD was already a Seattlest favorite, but now they're going way above and beyond the call of duty by having a live demonstration of action figure sculpting to close out the Guerrilla Art Army show.

6pm-10pm // BLVD Gallery, 2312 2nd Ave // FREE

ZINES: There's an all-day workshop to learn the hows and whys of the local zine scene. Seattle's a zine hotbed, and the fact that we hold events like this is a large reason why.

2-6pm // Main Library, 1000 Fourth Ave // FREE

BOATS: Seattlest's dad had a boat. We remember being forced to go out onto the Chesapeake Bay to fish all day. We'd inevitably get dehydrated and sick, which only added to our sense of misery. We'll be outside the boat show handing out leaflets to the dads that say "Your kids will one day choose your rest home. Boat wisely."

11am-5pm (continues through Feb. 3) // Qwest Field Event Center, 800 Occidental Ave South // $10
