>>> Sister Act at Meany Theater. Pianists, professors, and sisters Robin & Rachelle McCabe perform Brahms's Variations on a Theme by Haydn, Mozart¹s Sonata in B-flat major, K. 358 for piano four-hands, Gershwin¹s sparkling An American in Paris, and more.

>>> The Tiptons at Triple Door. This all-female sax quartet, is named for Billy Tipton, a 50s bandleader who was born as a woman but lived and performed as a man. Tipton played pretty lame stuff (think Paul Whiteman) but the Tiptons have a diverse repertoire encompassing jazz, funk, folk, and klezmer. They've been touring since '91, and know how to put on a show.

>>> Earl Greyhound at The Crocodile. Power drums + steel blanket riffs + soaring vocals = a good old fashioned rock beat-down. Our ears are already ringing from all the comparisons to Zeppelin.
9pm // $8

Friday, January 26

>>> Subtle at Neumos. Between van accidents and van robberies, anticon affiliates Subtle has had a rough road the last few years, but they've luckily managed to produce music interesting enough to endear them with both critics and fans. With the robbery last month they need all the support they can get, so come do your part.

Saturday, January 27

>>> Kate Simko at The VIP Room.
Machine Love
9:00 pm // $5 // 21+.

>>> Girl Talk at Chop Suey. Some regard Girl Talk's crazy megamixing as the greatest thing since sliced bread, others regard it as nothing short of a crime against all that is holy. With reports of live show semi-nudity, it seems like the show will be entertaining regardless of your stance on the music itself.
