GREEN CHEMISTRY: A professor of chemistry at Carnegie Mellon University, Terry Collins discusses his research on the design of nontoxic catalysts as well as public policy opportunities to encourage the development of products using green chemistry.

ZEN:The Platform Sutra, with The Heart Sutra and The Diamond Sutra, is one of the three texts central to Zen Buddhist teachings. The Platform Sutra presents the teachings of Hui-neng, the controversial Sixth Patriarch of Zen.

EATING HAPPY: Seattle-based nutritionist Susan Kleiner is the inventor of The Good Mood Diet. Last year, the Seattle P-I followed dieters in Kleiner’s program for six weeks. All lost weight by the end of the program, and experienced upswings in mood and energy levels.
