Husky Hoopsters Win State Bragging Rights in Blowout Win over Cougs

washington_logo_web.jpgThe University of Washington basketball team ran away from Washington State on Saturday, leading by as many as 32 before settling for an 86-64 victory.

After starting the game on a 10-2 run, the Huskies never trailed, though Washington State got within one point at 4:07 left in the first half. The Dawgs shot 55% in the second half to secure the victory, their 23rd straight against the Cougs.

The Dawgs' 86 points was their second-highest total of the year. They also recorded a season-high 19 steals.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak.

Are we resorting to pretending the chicks have dicks?

No, but we're prepared to assert that the far better version of the sport is played by people who don't have what passes for their brains dangling between their legs.

AND they beat the Cougars.

You should clarify in the title of this article, that it is the WOMENS basketball team that scored this game, you dont mention that the Husky mens basketball team LOST MISERABLY to the COUGARS 75-47 for a HUGE 28 point loss. Must suck to be a husky, once again.....

The huskies will have to suck for decades before they catch up to the accumulated suckiness of the cougars (the UW football team, of course, has been doing its best lately... oh wait, who Coug'd it in the Apple Cup this year?)

Anyway, no matter how much it might suck to be a husky at the moment, we don't have to spend the rest of our lives with the knowledge we wasted four (or more) years of our youth in Pullman. You'll never have those back.
