MOVIE: There were mountain movies before the book Into Thin Air or, more recently, the film Cliff Hanger. The German's were doing em way back before the talkies even talked, and you can go see one called Die Weisse Hölle Vom Piz Palü (The White Hell of Piz Palu) tonight at the Paramount. A live organist will be manning the Wurlitzer and a live German will be translating the subtitles.

FOOD/FUNDRAISER: It's a chili cook off and ten dollars buys a bowl. Proceeds benefit SPF 1: No Protection ("SPF" is "solo performers festival") which will take place in March. We're not sure from the materials we have whether the artists themselves are on the six teams that are making the chili, but we're not sure how interested we are in exploring the idea of chili...
