Skate Bowls, Plant Trees

River City Skatepark doesn't exist yet, but the future site in Seattle's South Park neighborhood is getting prepped now and there is an opportunity to help plant some trees there next week. Stop by on Monday around 10:30. Bring gloves. See our last post on this for the location.

Seattle's design/build skatepark firm Grindline is getting dirt in soon as well and the shaping work will start happening this month. There's already a 7' "volcano" in place in the middle of the park, but despite the title of this post it doesn't sound skate-able yet. Anyway, if you missed River City's fancy fundraisers recently and you're frustrated by the pace of the municipal plan or still a little shell-shocked after the surprise burial of the Seattle Center park, this is a great opportunity to put some sweat into a skate spot in the city of Seattle without having to do anything really hard like pour concrete.
