C'mon John, every announcer misjudges flyballs occasionally. Hell, Willie Bloomquist does it every time and he's allowed to play outfield.

Should someone tell him? I don't want to tell him. And can anyone actually determine what Niehaus will be doing in this configuration? Besides prematurely judging shallow pops to center as being home runs, I mean?

I heard Sims a lot when I was living in New York and watching lots of St. John's games. He's a solid announcer--not great like Gary Cohen, Gus Johnson or Mike Breen, but not horrible like John Sterling, Michael Kay, Howie Rose or Bob Murphy. Blowers is pretty damn good by former player standards.
