Chicago. Oh, We've Met

Chicago_1.jpgThe Seahawks and Bears have never met in the playoffs, however, Seattle teams have danced with the Windy City's finest in the postseason.

Huskies beat Illinois in the Second Round of the 2006 NCAA Tournament. Although he is now spending more time on the bench, Justin Dentmon's four point play gave the Huskies a huge momentum boost when it looked like the Illini might turn away Brandon Roy's second half comeback.

Mariners swept the White Sox 3-0 in the 2000 ALDS. We are pretty sure this is the only playoff series ever to be clinched on a walk off bunt. We were so nervous during Game One that we washed and dried every piece of clothing that we owned to keep us from going insane.

Bulls beat the Sonics 4-2 in the 1996 NBA Finals. Although Michael Jordan was the series MVP he was outplayed by Dennis Rodman and Shawn Kemp. Nate McMIllian missed most of the series with injuries, and apparently George Karl and Vincent Askew haven't spoken since.

Nice try there, David S. Unfortunately the University of Illinois basketball team the Huskies beat is located on a campus 130+ miles south of Chicago in the middle of the freakin' prairie.

I think you may be the only person who considers the U of I at Urbana/Champaign to be a Chicago school.

Hell, I consider anything east of the Rockies, west of the Appalachians, and north of the Mason-Dixon to be a Chicago school.

Even though the Seahawks lost, I still heart Seattle. Now, about those goddamn Starbucks everywhere...
