Get Out

m-9782.jpgSPELLING: Rarely does an adult get to display a skill so mundane as spelling, and rarer still does an adult have an opportunity to engage in feats of spelling in front of an audience and within the context of a competition, but tonight at the Re-bar is just such an opportunity. We're still in negotiations withe the Re-bar rules committee to see if Seattlest's spelling stand-in FireFox 2.0 is eligible to compete.

7pm // Re-bar // $5

MUSIC: My Morning Jacket was described as "Like the Flaming Lips with less bunnies and blood," in our Aural Pleasures post for this week and like this in a subsequent Seattlest email thread: "They are spacey like Flaming Lips, but they're still Southern rockers. Southern rock in the form of Zep as a jam band, but Southern rock all the same." It looks like tickets are no longer available through TM, but you can give it a shot at CL.

8pm // The Moore // $25 if available

Alright, I'd like to thank W.E.T. for not updating their website and myself for not being able to read dates. Never Swim Alone is closed so if MMJ or the spelling bee aren't for you there is a football game tonight you might be interested in watching: http://www.bcsfootball.org/cfb/story/6337782

Actually, Never Swim Alone closed on the 18th of December. And the interim guest show The Show closed yesterday, I believe. In DisDress opens Thursday.
