'Zona Flogs Dawgs, Schedule Change Announced

basketball.jpgCoach Romar changed his lineup tonight (bringing Quincy Pondexter and Justin Dentmon off the bench), and tightened his rotation (eliminating minutes for Hans Gasser, Artem Wallace and Brandon Burmeister). Still, a third straight loss for the Dawgs, 96-87 to Arizona.

Since they're unable to beat anyone in the Pac-10, Romar announced a few changes to the Dawgs' remaining home schedule:

Sat, Jan 6: Arizona St. Sarasota St.
Thu, Jan 25: Oregon Eragon
Sat, Jan 27: Oregon St. Morgan St.
Thu, Feb 8: Cal-Berkeley Berklee College of Music
Sun, Feb 11: Stanford Samford
Wed, Feb 14: Washington State Cougars Penitentiary
Thu, Mar 1: USC UFC
Sat, Mar 3: UCLA UC-Del Rey

Come on, that's crap. The team stepped up and looked pretty good yesterday. They just happened to do it against the #7 team in the country. A team that hasn't lost since it's road opener.

Hawes showed incredible skillz in dropping dimes from all over the court, Phil Nelson looked like the sweet, pure shooter he was brought in to be, Q-Pon continued making a name for himself.

I have 10 times more confidence in this team after last night than I did after the UCLA game.

(Although, yeah, the next 3 have become pretty much "must win" kind of games...)

I liked it better when I got to post with derision about Gonzaga's troubles.
