As it should be, it's quiet this week in Seattle, but that doesn't mean there's nothing to do -- especially the closer we get to New Year's Eve. So without further ado, Seattlest's belated gift to you -- some shows:
Thursday, December 28
>>> Vicci Martinez, Kym Tuvim, Jonatha King, and Danny Godinez at The Tractor. Singer/songwriter Vicci Martinez is not only an immensely talented artist with impressive stage presence, she's also cute as hell. On this particular evening, she'll be joined by three other wonderful folksingers for a night of sensitive navel gazing.
*mp3: Fire in Her Eyes
8pm; $8.
>>> Scissors for Lefty at Chop Suey. Our big gay brother SFist is always talking about this Bay Area quartet, and with good reason: these guys have synth hooks for days. They're so good we're willing to ignore the terrible moniker. Playing with The Pharmacy and Holy Ghost Revival.
*YouTube: Mama Your Boys Will Find a Home
9pm; $8/$6 before 10:30pm. 18+, bar with ID.
Friday, December 29
>>> The Aerialistas and Circus Contraption Band at Center House, Seattle Center. These high-flying hotties are an offshoot of the fantastically terrific local troupe Circus Contraption. Come for the quirky, boisterous music stylings of the band, stay for the amazing women twirling above your head. Part of Seattle Center's Winterfest.
7pm band, 7:30pm aerial show; FREE; Same show on Thursday 28th as well.
Saturday, December 30
>>> The Tallboys at Conor Byrne Pub. Seattle's hardest working old time string band, and champions of the Tractor's Monday Night Square Dance, will be capping off their year with this show at Conor Byrne.

I'd rather pay an extra $2 ticketing fee and see the Melvins!
