Be Sure To Enjoy Your 8 Hours Of Daylight Today

Living in Seattle, we've become attuned to the winter solstice, as it's the date we can start looking for evidence that the world isn't falling into an ever-increasing black maw. The next few days are critical. If this site is to be believed, we have 3 seconds less daylight today than yesterday. In theory, this process will start to reverse itself. But you know how skeptical we are about "theories" these days.

Sunrise was at 7:55am and sunset will be at 4:20pm. (Hah! 420! Totally, dude!) Tomorrow, we can expect a full extra second of daylight! We don't know how you plan to spend your extra second, but by god we're squeezing all the juice possible out of our pale little lemon-sized sun.

If you have no power still, you can attend World Storyfest at Seattle Center's ongoing Winterfest (pdf calendar). That's 11am-2:30pm Friday and Saturday. They advertise a fireplace. If you have power, but are short on enormous sculpted boulders, go here. They're local, which is good when it comes to freight for tons of stone. Would you be interested in the New Age stylings of David Lanz? Oh, what the hell. Just go to a cafe then.
