LSU vs. Washington: Who's In Trouble Here?
Yeah, LSU went to the Final Four last year, and yeah, they've been ranked as high as #5, and yeah, they have maybe the country's best player in Glen "Big Baby" Davis, but....
--they've lost twice (to Wichita St. and Texas)
--they aren't getting good guard play.
--they struggled to beat Pac-10 cellar candidates Oregon State on Sunday. In fact, the Beavers probably should've won--they missed a lot of gimmes.
--if there's a team in the country that should be able to deal with Davis straight-up, it's the Huskies, with Hawes and Brockman on the post, and (we suspect) an occasional dose of Quincy Pondexter.
So, as Ron Fairly used to say, "Who's in trouble here?" It's not the Huskies.
One thing to watch--Oregon State, which rarely plays zone, employed one against LSU with great success, holding the Tigers to 60 points. With the Huskies, who also rarely play zone, do the same?
Also--if Big Baby looks smaller to you than he did last year, there's nothing wrong with your TV, Davis lost 50 lbs. in the offseason.
