Get Out
MOVIES: The Grand Illusion is not only showing "It's a Wonderful LIfe" tonight, but it's also providing an opportunity to crash the Illusion's holiday party for the staff and friends. "Food, drink, merriment and presents," will be on hand and the 8pm screening is free.
8pm // Grand Illusion [1403 NE 50th St.] // free
MUSIC: El Vez is an Hispanic Elvis performer. We've never seen El Vez perform, but since he's doing a Mexican Elvis Christmas show we have absolutely no problem recommending this. There's also an early show so if it's a choice between staying downtown for a few more hours with Mexican Elvis and your cold, dark house with no Mexican Elvis that's, well, no choice at all.
7pm and 10pm // The Triple Door [216 Union] // $23
LIVE ARTS: The arts mentioned specifically for this holiday party are live music, poetry and painting. This is Round 19 of the Fremont Abbey's "In the Round" series where musicians will be making music, painters will be painting, poets will be...performing and patrons will be filled with the holiday spirit and awe of the miracle of creativity.
8pm // The Fremont Abbey [43rd & Fremont Avenue North] // $5-10 donation
