KEXP Counts Down

topfive.jpgOn Friday, December 29th at 10am, KEXP will begin counting down the top 90.3 albums of 2006 (does that mean 90 good albums plus one only a third of which is any good? We don't know). In the meantime, until December 26th you and everyone you know can vote for your own top five albums of the year.

Seattlest Jack voted and as difficult as it was, here's his top five:

1. Neko Case - Fox Confessor Brings the Flood

2. Cat Power - The Greatest

3. The Long Winters - Putting the Days to Bed

4. Belle and Sebastian - The Life Pursuit

5. TV on the Radio - Return to Cookie Mountain

What's your top five? Go vote and then share with us. We want to know what we're missing. On that note, feel free to chime in on what albums were complete shit as well.

    Decemberists - Crane Wife

    Neko Case - Confessor

    Thermals - The Body

  • The Starlight Mints Drowaton is my favorite cd of the year. The other cds I told kexp I liked are:

    Decemberists Crane Wife

    Common Market

Band of Horses Everything all the time

Cold War Kids Robbers and cowards

  • Don't mind Seth. His Clap Your Hands Say Yeah CD wore out and he's been edgy ever since.

I voted for Neko and TV on the Radio, as well as The Ettes' Shake the Dust, Goldfrapp's album, and the Gossip's album.

  • Seth, all your dreams are over now

  • Seth

First of all, there hasn't been a decent album released in this city since the "1995: A Season to Remember" CD by Dave Niehaus.

But, of that group, TV on the Radio is the worst. One of those dudes was in my dorm at NYU, I saw them in like 2002, and every song sounds like the fast part of a U2 song...booooorrring.
