Let's All Hope Miguel Batista Is a Better Pitcher Than He Is a Writer
Fueling speculation that the 2007 Mariners ad slogan may be "Mariner Baseball: Wanna Pitch?", the M's signed the author of the 465,629th best-selling book on Amazon.com to a three-year, $24 million contract tonight.
Author, searching-eyes-possessor, and 36-year-old right-handed starter Miguel Batista, best known for his work with the Arizona Diamondbacks Writers' Workshop, is the newest Mariner. He won 11 games last year as a starter with the D-backs, after a one-year stint as the Blue Jays closer. He's an average pitcher on the downslope of his career--think 1995 Tim Belcher.
But if he throws his slider like he writes dialogue, it could be a long year. From Page 13 of Batista's mystery/crime thriller The Avenger of Blood: A Plot Where Real Facts and Evidences Face Faith:
"I think you're right: this has got to be only the second time when the entire state has become so intently focused on one trial. Many people who came here today are carrying posters and signs demanding justice and that Thomas Santiago receive the death penalty," Molly observed.
Quite an observation!
Long-winded writing notwithstanding, Batista's publisher assures us that The Avenger of Blood is "a heart-pounding ride as the author takes us down into the darkest depths of the human soul, and forces us to question everything we thought we knew about justice and the mysterious paths of faith."
Which, coincidentally, will probably end up being pretty fair description of the 2007 Mariners season.

Dear Writer,
I have a couple of question for you:
1) are you baseball writer or literature?
2) How many books do you read either fiction or non fiction?
3) How many languages do speak or write?
4) How fast can you throw a baseball?
5) Why is it that we can write positive things about the few athletes that actually
make a different? Let me explain me this last point
In case you did not know or did research Mr. Miguel Batista before writing your article, is the only professional baseball player
as of today that has writing a fiction novel, others usually as you may or not know only write about the careers or
even worse how to destroy other people careers. And he novel was published first in Spanish, English of course been his second language
and I believe he speaks some French (playing time in Canada)
Miguel Batista has donate money and even more valuable his time to an American Indian Reservation in Phoenix, not only has he providing the reservations kids with a place to play their beloved baseball, but most importantly he spends his free time during the playing season in Arizona (that in case you don't know his only day off every 6 days when at home) with the kids teaching them baseball but also reading.
Miguel Batista during his off season just this past year game the first baseball clinic in Mexico City and
Spoke at the University in Mexico on the importance of the sports and education.
Miguel Batista during his off season also this past year spoke at the High of the City of Lawrence MA, to a group of young Latin students mainly on the importance of education. Was presented with the keys of the City (maybe not important for some but it matter to him)
And finally Miguel Batista has established like many of his fellow Dominican players a Foundation in his country to help the children. But the main goal of Miguel's foundation wonderfully run by his mother is the education of kids, therefore no child is not allow to participate in baseball practice unless school grade are more then satisfactory. And believe Miguel's mother is tuff on this.
OH! And by the way just for the ladies out there he was voted last year in Latina Magazine August/Edition among the 20th sexiest Latino man of the year.
Well Mr. Writer with the respect that you deserve, I apologize if this was a bit over the top and yes I am a great fan of Miguel.
I hope and which Miguel has great season but mostly that City and fans of Seattle with all it's culture,
will not only enjoy Miguel's playing ability, but that they enjoy the great person he is outside the ballpark.

Creo que si llegase a hacer un real trabajo de campo e investigacion, se dara cuenta de que se cuenta entre los no muchos que han seguido una vida profesional, dentro y fuera del terreno de juego, intachable. No como muchos de sus conciudadanos que, tristemente, se han destacado por sus criticables actuaciones y por su initerminable cantidad de lesiones durante las campanas en las que ha militado. Deberia tambien su estudio abarcar una especie de labor comparativa entre lo que han hecho los jugadores estadounides y lo que han hecho los latinos. Not only he is a marvelous writer and a baseball player he also has a great taste when it comes to women. Behind a great man stands a phenomenal woman. Miguel Batista's love of his life lives in Arizona. I had the opportunity of meeting her.I saw them together at the David Copperfield Magic Show last March 2007. Just like him, she was confident, intelligent, classy, uniquely gorgeous, enchanting and something about her that was so mesmerizing! She spoke to my daughters. My daughters thought that she was an angel.She was tiny, caramel skin tone, beautiful tantalizing eyes, long silky hair, the whitest teeth I've ever seen and the most amazing radiant smile! They could not stop talking about her. I applaud Mr. Batista for his taste of woman. I introduced myself and my family to him and his girlfriend. They both were wonderful and down to earth. His girlfriend even teased my daughters and they absolutely thought she was funny! They looked perfect and very at peace with each other. They kept starring at each other and smiled often, you can just feel the love between the beautiful couple. The reason why I am writing this comment is to show how much that moment meant to me and my wife. We were in a verge of divorce. By seeing Miguel Batista and his girlfriend that night at the magic show and how much they love each other made me realized how valuable my marriage was and it brought back memories of how I used to be in love with my wife. They saved my marriage and I am forever greatful to both of them. It was indeed a magical night! More power to Miguel Batista and his girlfriend. Now my daughters love watching baseball with me and they are his solid fans!

Yeah, the magic show of david copperfield was great! But man! It was more enjoyable watching Miguel Batista and his drop dead gorgeous girlfriend at the show. What's her nationality????!!!! You are in luck Carlos! I know the woman that our hero is dating. I have seen them around. The last time I saw them was at the Z'Tejas in Chandler. I introduced myself to her inside the powder room. She told me her name, but it was a very unique name, if I remember correctly it was Tash. She was extremely beautiful. I can tell that she is a very private person. I asked her how long they have been dating and the only thing she said to me was "have a good night and drive safely". She was very exotic! She exudes sexiness. I will do anything to have a body like her! I think Miguel Batista is beyond lucky! There are a lot of famous athletes, however, most of them end up or have bimboes for wives or girlfriends. Maybe our Miguel should give them a PITCH on how to pick a REAL WOMAN!!! They will make beautiful babies, maybe they already have children? Based on her sexy body, I doubt it.

I am glad that you have a column that people can share their experiences with the celebrity. I met the couple few months ago. She was funny and had the most contagious smile. What a beautiful WOMAN. The true definition in my standard. I spoke to her briefly. She was caring and really spoke from her heart. When she told me her name, I thought she was kidding. No she wasn't. Her name was Taj Mahal. WOW!!! Now I truly believe that history repeats by itself. She was stunning!! The most overpowering eyes, lucious tanned skin, the hair, oh my lord, Paris Hilton pays mega bucks to have her stupid extensions, but Taj Mahal has the most beautiful hair, no offensed Rapunzel. The teeth on Taj? NEON WHITE!!!! I don't know, I have been around many celebrities, but nothing like Taj Mahal brought me to my knees. What a mysterous woman and so sexy in her own way!@! I hope that she will choose and pick whoever she will want to marry and not get stuck with just ANY GUY. If you are listening or reading tnis column, please don't settle for less, you deserve to have the best in life. God didn't make you beautiful, tantalizing, mysterous for nothing. I know Miguel Batista is madly in love with you, but keep your options open. In my own opinion you need to be with David Beckham and he needs to boot his skankie wife out!!!

I saw them at the St. Mary's Basilica in downtown Phoenix. I happened to talk to her because she waited and held the church's door open for me. I am a handicap person. I thought that was sweet of her to do that and we just begun talking. She told me her name. How can you forget the name Tajmahal? She was very friendly. She had a way of making you feel at ease. She said she was waiting for someone, and that someone was Miguel Batista. I was shocked. I never expected to see the couple in that church. I think that it's great that they go to church together. There was no mass on that particular afternoon. To me, I think that they are good people. Tajmahal to me had an angelic look to her, but with brown skin. I don't know why some men here just focused on her certain body parts. Her eyes has a compass to ones soul, they are beautiful! Very elegant and classy lady. They are smart for going to church. Probably the only place that no one would bother and judge them. They are very normal. Taj was so down to earth but Miguel Batista was not that friendly. I read some outrageous comments on Miguel Batista's gilfriend article. First of all, I don't think he is the type to screw different women and for those girls to say that he cheated on him while he was on triple A, that was so long ago, and it's quite obvious those girls have not let go of whatever fixations they have with Miguel Batista. He may or may have not dated those girls back then, who cares???!!!! They sounded just like the rest of the groupies. I think Miguel Batista is happy with Taj and if he did all those back in the days, WHO CARES????? Those girls just need to get a life and leave him alone. Those girls are jealous because Miguel Batista finally found the Love of His life and Taj is definitely the catch of the century. I have not read anything back about that woman. Taj is definitely tiny! Way tiny for Miguel Batista. I saw them at RA Sushi. A mutual friend by the named Mike S. introduced me to her. She is stunning! Everyone described her as having the whitest teeth, I agree. I think the best damn teeth that colgate has ever made.LOL! However, I have to say that I digged her caramel skin tone, ( I will give anything to have her silky and tanned skin!) No offense Miguel, I think her breast are the bomb! Dude, are those real? Some of the comments on Miguel and Taj's relationship are not neccessary. Miguel and Taj are human and they get hurt. Some men needs to be respectful of Miguel's girlfriend. I was amazed, you can not tell that she’s even got a child. Let alone, four children? What a woman! I told her that women without children doesn’t even look as good as her not even halfway. She smiled and humbly said “thank you”. I asked if she was a regular church goer, she said no, and that she was waiting for someone special, when that someone special finally arrived it was Miguel Batista. I was shocked to see them in that church. I think it’s great that they go to church together. There was no mass on that particular afternoon. To me, I they are good people. I can tell he’s deeply in love with her. It was certainly a joyous afternoon for me. You see, being handicap, I never really got the chance to give and receive love. So therefore, all I do is reflect on lovers and the way they stare or interact with each other, I think I am pretty good when it comes to observing people. I read different articles about Miguel and Taj, I don’t know why some men were so focused on her certain body parts and drool like a foolish dog. I think that men should focused more on a women’s inside. Fortunately for Miguel Batista, Taj’s got it all! I had the priveledge of talking to her, in an instant without a doubt Taj is the real deal. Her tantalizing eyes has a compass to ones soul, they’re extremely beautiful! What an elegant and a classy woman! Being a handicap person, I have been to different charity events and majority of the people in that event are just there to pass their guilt and the big TAX WRITEOFF DONATIONS! Most of those people are not real. They pretend to care. I wished people like Taj and Miguel would be in many charity events. I know that Taj’s presence would make a huge difference with people like me. I wonder if Taj and Miguel have their own charity? They are smart for going to church. Sweetie you seem to think I didn't kick him out of my life.And That I knew him way back then only,we still stayed in touch until I got engaged. But he told me all the same things,and I'm sure he meant them when he said them, He's a decent person, But YOU haven't ever even met him, and I've kown him for years,One of us has perspective, and it isn't you. Just to be clear If I ever had his child,I'd never admit it!!! I would admit to having a dog I named Miguel!.But I knew him for years and he never changed and I know he has boys by Claudia, the girl before and after me. He told at least 4 girls I know of He Loved them...it's like a hiccup to him.Although I truly hoped he's changed,he could be a good person. But I doubt money has improved his motivation to be a good guy, especially to women, which he considers he should have at least 2 of....I'm not mentioned on here, neither is his ex?wife or Maria, the girl he dated for 4-5 years before us,how many other girls do you think are out there that aren't on here??? trust me..hundreds....He had no conscience the whole time I knew him at Triple A.I 'm happy to hear he was in church, I pray he comes to terms with what's really important in this life, I once thought he knew!

She has beautiful green eyes, caramel skin, and my long Auburn hair.Cheater inbedded through and through, Tripla A dated him way too long,His own teammates helped me catch him cheating. But he left me a gift. Poor Claudia, she actually went through with it and married him after everyone else dumped him. I guess now she knows. I should thank her. Poor Taj is she's in the web of his deciet, and poor who-ever else he becomes involved with. Miguel Batista's "avenger of blood" bore the shit out of me. The first 5 minutes was excruciating and hell! I was hoping that the book was money back guarantee. Personally I don't think he can published the book if he didn't have all his millions. I don't think that his book would sell for a .01 (penny) in a garage sale. NOT A GOOD WRITER! As far as pitcher? There are only 2 comments here that are right on track. I don't know if they were made by the same user or not but all that stuff about singing songs to you over the phone and mentioned Claudia tells me this person does know Miguel personally. I dated him in the past and that's all true, he would sing to me (Mariah Carey songs were ours) and look deep into my eyes while out in public and talk shit about women who dressed a certain way out in public. Ah and my personal fav, he used to tell things like "get used to my last name because you'll be using it" He is a great poet and could have a career in acting as well. For those of you who get offended by this is because you DON'T know him on a personal level. We are not hating, simply sharing our experiences and we DO know Miguel unlike you others. I do care for him, he is a GREAT friend and we still keep in touch (matter of fact he emailed me on Monday). I am now married and happy. I wish him all the best in his career,love, and his family. If you really know Miguel intimately, HE DOES HAVE A BAD BREATH! If you girls been with him, you know what I am talking about! Why bother? Surely he can afford to buy a toothbrush, Miguel, tooth brush is only $1.99 (plus tax )seriuosly, it will not even break your bank account! Or you are just plain lazy and nasty? WHY? GOOD DENTAL HYGIENE is crucial for a good health.
HERE ARE TIPS FOR YOU MIGUEL:
1. You need to do something about your dental hygiene. Make an appointment to see a dentist regarding this bad breath issue of yours. The dental office should be able to give you "FREE TOOTHBRUSH and FREE MOUTHWASH" after they do a heavy duty cleaning! Please do this at least 2 times a month for a good year. That way the bad bacteria will vacate your mouth.
2. Miguel Stop writing stupid crap for publicity. People don't care you who are dating, and what you do with your own time. They only want to watch Baseball, which personally, I think you are lousy! Scouts need to do a better job, they can definitely find talented and real athlete for a lot less and American can enjoy watching. You have a vindictive side and bad temper in the field, which is not good because, children are all over watching baseball and it is sad to see someone like you with bad temper and attitude on the field. How did you get the Mr. Goodguy of Baseball title? Just by donating $50,000 of your money to the indian? Sure you got a good write off on your taxes, right? Big freaking deal! There are a lot of athletes that do more that your crappy donation and want to remained anonymous. You have made a lot here in USA and you should be grateful and not abuse your status as a baseball player. BASEBALL is america's past time, we want to keep it wholesome for family and not see guy(s) like you with hot temper on the field. Work your issues with Dr. Phil.
