Seattlest Presents "Guilty Pleasures"
About seventy percent of my iPod contains music that could be construed as a guilty pleasure, and most of that is right out there in the open. I'm just not really feeling a whole lot of guilt over it. However, there's also a playlist so innocuously named that it couldn't possibly attract any attention ever and that playlist contains the lowest of the low; the truly embarrassing shit, the shit that is sure to come on the moment I let random play deejay a party.
It's still not as bad as the stuff that's going to get played at the High Dive on Friday night, though. Guilty Pleasures is going to feature some great local bands performing some of the guiltiest pleasures this side of adult contemporary. We've been promised Journey, ELO, INXS, Tiffany and Thin Lizzy and that's just a random sampling, so it seems like it's going to be a blast. Seattlest actually liked this event so much we put our name on it and it's a benefit for Mercy Corp of top of that, so we'll see you there.
Here are some of the bands we're told will be there:
Cantona Sumac Pleasurecraft Chapstik Argo Stuporhero Magneto C'est la Mort Life In A Blender West Mike Dannner X-Ray Eyes The Capillaries Betamax Down Pilot
Not a guilty pleasure among them.
