Mom and Girls Found, Dad Still Missing

mom.jpgOur apologies if you're not following this story, but it just continues to break our heart. Family found! But without dad. So bittersweet.

From CNET:

"James set up camp for them, just like it was a camping trip for them, to help them get through it. They had the store of things that they would normally have for the girls...bottled water, blankets," Sandy Fleming, Kati's mother, said Tuesday on the ABC program Good Morning America.
He left on foot two days before mom and girls were spotted by a rescue helicopter. They kept warm for nine days using the heater from their car, then burning tires when they ran out of gas. It is cold but clear in southern Oregon, so they continue to search 24/7, through the night. They've picked up his tracks in numerous spots, which is the best possible sign.

Have you called your family recently? No? Pick up the phone, stat! The SF Chronicle also offers the proverbial list of "stuff you should have for a road trip" that you probably don't have in your car whenever you head out for a holiday drive; a couple items will be added to our car based on that list. The Chron also mentions sticking together if lost, which breaks our heart further because our gut tells us James Kim knows that, and was desperate when he decided to strike out on his own.
