<description>&lt;p&gt;I assume it&apos;s true that Seattle has one of the lowest proportions of children in the country.  If so, doesn&apos;t that mean that the school system should be especially well-funded?  Since those childless folks are all subsidizing schools for everyone else?  &lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;True dat! If the irate &quot;advocates&quot; (as you tag them) want someone to blame, they should be looking at other families with kids who have moved to the &apos;burbs. Seattle has a population with one of the highest proportions of single people w/o kids in the country...perhaps the City should be looking at ways to make living in Seattle attractive and affordable for families with kids, rather than spending resources on this brouhaha with the school district.&lt;/p&gt;</description>
