Our own Madame Hooky divines whether it's worth calling in sick Friday and heading for the slopes. She'll conjure your excuse and tell you where to go.
This week turned out to be an extended Thanksgiving weekend for many thanks to Seattle Snowstormmageddon 2006. You didn't really need an excuse to play hooky this week, except you probably couldn't actually get your rear-wheel drive GTI anywhere near a ski resort for any of the snow days this week. If you're looking to call it an entire week of slacking, try this one for Friday:
I'm sorry, I can't come in Friday as I have to go rescue my car in Burien--I had to abandon it in the street there to get home during those crazy snowstorms this week. I know, I don't live anywhere near Burien. It's complicated, it's ah...family stuff.
Crystal Mt. is trailing Baker on snowbase by almost three feet, and yet conditions are still worth the trip--a friend who lives in Greenwater hit Crystal on Tuesday and Wednesday and reported surprisingly light powder and zero crowds. With the final dump from last night's storm dusting the Cascades with another 1/2 foot, and temps that are still well below freezing in the mountains, tomorrow will bestow upon you slackers plenty of soft, carefree turns under a bluebird sky.

Tuesdays are Muppet Days
