Win Front Row Seats to Crazy

chanmarshall.jpg

Sure, Chan Marshall of Cat Power is not a mess like she once was. She's cleaned up her act, stopped trying to drink herself to death, and can actually make it through an entire set without crying. Plus, for her latest album she teamed up with a great collective of musicians, the Memphis Rhythm Band, who do an awesome job bluesing up her delicate sound. Still, even with those changes, given what we've seen of Chan's onstage antics during her recent tour---spontaneous jigging, shadowboxing, chicken-dancing, and forgetting band members' names---one thing remains clear: Bitch is crazy.

Seattlest is offering up two chances for you to witness that crazy up close and personal. Of course we've got a pair of tickets to her gig at the Showbox next Tuesday (11/28). But we've also got a couple seats reserved at a super-secret, very intimate Cat Power recording session for Rhapsody and Rolling Stone the day before. Details are still vague and hush-hush, but we do know it will be held Monday evening (11/27) at an "undisclosed location in downtown Seattle." The taping should start around 5pm in front of an audience of about 20 people, of which two will be one lucky-ass Seattlest reader and guest. This performance (video and audio) will premiere on Rhapsody and RollingStone.com sometime next year. They won't be filming the audience, so don't worry, your ugly mug won't be all over the internets.

For a chance to win tickets to these events, just fill out the form below with all the required information. We'll pick the winners at noon on Monday, so all entries must be received by that time. First prize gets to go to the Monday taping, and second prize can see Cat Power at the Showbox Tuesday night. Before entering this contest, please consider whether or not you and your plus one will be able to get out of work early enough on Monday to be in some sort of downtown underground bunker by 5pm.

  • Where do the other 18 lucky people get the tix?

I have seen Chan twice over the last few years.

I missed her show in Chicago when she canceled the tour last year (right after "The Greatest" came out.)

I already have tix for the show (gonna be in town for the Seattle Marathon), but this taping sounds even better.

Can I enter the contest 1000 times? ;)
