Open House, Open Studios, Open Minds

This weekend, the Youngstown Cultural Arts Center is having an Open House, while Cooper Artist Housing is having Open Studios. We know this because some old friends of ours are Cooper cultists and they sent us a postcard. How droll! How last century!

If you can, come on by. We live in a building with some pretty interesting peeps, doing some pretty nifty stuff. We'll have a new film short & photos [They're working on a documentary about Tent City].

Yes, that's right. It's a smorgasbord. Clock how the artistic set lives and stock up on some of that free culture while you're at it. "Visit the thirty-six Cooper Artist Housing live/work studios and the Cultural Center tenant organizations, enjoy an exhibition of work by artist residents, and witness performances in the theater and movement studio."

If you can make it out to West Seattle, it sounds like there ought to be something up your alley: "music, dance, spoken word, film, visual art and more." And if you live in West Seattle, for god's sake, what more are you looking for? Nothing else is going on out there, and this is free. Just remember to watch for traffic while crossing the street.
