Krzysztof Kieslowski Films Playing At NWFF This Week

noend.jpgNorthwest Film Forum is currently showing films that were directed by the man who made the best television ever, Krzysztof Kieslowski. Screw you Twin Peaks, Monty Python, Thirtysomething, Kids in the Hall, Buffy, Frasier, Sopranos, Arrested Development, Lost, Best Week Ever; Kieslowski's Decalogue is the best TV ever.

Tonight we're going to see The Scar, which is not a part of Kieslowski's made-for-TV series. It's his first theatrically released film and it's about a guy who gets hired by the Communist Party to return to his hometown and supervise a construction project. Disillusionment ensues. NWFF has Kieslowski films playing all week with Camera Buff tomorrow, Blind Chance on Thursday, No End (part of the Decalogue) on Friday and A Short Film About Killing (also an expanded version of a Decalogue installment) on Saturday.

We hear that someone was trying to get some original Kieslowski poster art together to display at NWFF during this run, and if you're not down for the movies you should at least stop by to see the art. Polish poster art is head and shoulders above the poppy crap you might see at a Flatstock.
