All That Rain Isn't Just Clogging Your Gutters

Normally, we'd be bouncing around the office, giddy with excitement and glee given the recent snow dumps in our mountains, buffeted by predictions of up to 3 feet of snow in the Cascades over the next two days. But we've had the worst case of the flu that we can remember (in bed for five days...five days!) and it is still killing our ability to be enthusiastic. We'll commence the jumping around as soon as it doesn't make us have to lie down from exhaustion.

Crystal Mt. originally planned to open on Wednesday, but a little warm swell over the past couple of days has them pinning it on Thursday now. Mt. Baker is targeting Thursday as well. Stevens Pass is flirtateously optimistic, but has no date set yet, and all is quiet from the perennial late-bloomers Snoqualmie Pass and Mission Ridge. Still, two Washington ski resorts open before Thanksgiving, even more surprisingly before Whistler opens? We'll take that over marshmallows in our yams any day.
