Fired Bus Driver Has New Job, Denies Her Bird Flipping Was Political

schoolbus2.gifFrom King County Journal, via the Slog, the Issaquah school bus driver fired for flipping off President Bush is now employed as a driver for the Renton school district.

Interestingly, as much as many people would love her act to be evidence of increasing dissatisfaction with the Bush administration (truly, once you lose school bus drivers, you've lost the nation) her explanation of the incident indicates that her middle-fingering wasn't political--the way we read this, she was just pissed about getting stuck in traffic:

She wasn't making a political statement, she said.

It was a way to release "a little bit of anger," she said, as she waited in traffic.

On June 16, "she was having a really bad day," said Bill Dennis, director of research for the Washington state Council of County and City Employees.

Dennis said LaManna was frustrated with "events that were going on at her job" and how she was delayed by the motorcade. She's regretful and apologetic for what she did, he said.

We're not convinced. How does LaManna explain these photos?

Having a bad day huh? She says she was frustrated being stuck in traffic? Dosen't she get paid by the hour? If my kid were on the bus I would be very mad if she weren't fired. You people that think it was OK are morons and are showing your ignorance if you agree with what she did...where are the morals and values that people used to have? By the way I'm a school bus driver also.
