Brandon Roy's First NBA Touch

roy_draft.PNGBrandon Roy, who is as far as we can tell the first Garfield High School Bulldog to play in the NBA, started in last night's hometeam win over the Oklahoma City Sonics.

His first touch came less than a minute into the game, when the Blazers' Jarrett Jack stole a Ray Allen pass and started a break. Roy flared out to the left, expecting a pass, but Jack took the ball himself and got swatted by Chris Wilcox.

Roy, his nose for the ball as good in the NBA as it was in college, wrestled the rebound away from trailing teammate Zach Randolph, and put in a layup for his first two NBA points. He finished with 20 points on 10 of 16 shooting.
