This Concludes McGavick's Broadcast Day

mike.bmpMike McGavick has decided that trying to get Subaru-driving, fleece-vest-wearing, city slickers to vote for him is a waste of time. He is yanking all of his ads off Puget Sound air waves.

While often a signal of a campaign in trouble, McGavick's spokesman, Elliott Bundy, said the change of course was needed to target money toward direct-mail and voter-turnout operations.

"You make these decisions as you move along," Bundy said. "There's nothing to read into that."

KING-TV, KIRO-TV and KOMO-TV all reported that McGavick had substantially reduced the number of campaign spots to be shown from now until Election Day."

Instead he will try and appeal to hundreds of people who live outside of the Puget Sound region. In fact, if he starts now he could probably talk to every one of them individually by late Friday.

Hold on a minute. Change of course? That sounds like some pussy ‘cut and run’ talk to us.

  • The ironic thing is the more money Mike! spends on ads the more the voters of Washington state see that he is a complete douche bag. My girlfriend was all impressed by the Libertarian and was going to vote for him until she saw Mike! in the debate. She proudly voted for Maria Cantwell just to spite Mike!

Based on the production value of those ads, I'd have bet he'd have plenty of money left to run them wherever his heart desired.
