Seattlest Trivia: October 24 Wrapup

aha.jpg Things we learned at trivia last night:

Some people thought the Molucca Islands might be popularly known as the Rattan Islands, the Rubber Islands, the Molasses Islands, or -- our favorite given the question -- Java.

No one reads Ellery Queen these days. (Nor, to be fair, do we.)

At least one team thought perhaps Steve Irwin won the women's 400m sprint at the 2000 Olympics in Sydney. Alternate theory: your mom.

Like Seattlest until we checked, almost no one knows how many pieces of bacon are in a rasher.

And Strippergate just might have started when Rick's wanted to build an 80-foot bronze statue of Larry Flynt. (Who we're pretty sure is actually an investor in the Deja Vu chain, but pretend we don't know quite so much about the strip club industry, okay?)

We were happy to finally write a quiz for which 14 out of 20 teams got more than half the answers right. And we're happy right now to publically reveal the winners, the winners of the swag (a.k.a. the losers), and everyone else. (Thanks for the creative team names this week!)

Amphetamines are used for the treatment of particular and specific
disorders, but falling into a pattern of abuse is alarmingly easy and
quickly leads to addiction, and that can be both physically and
emotionally dangerous. Amphetamines are cheap, readily available and
often the first port of call for students trying to get through the last
stages of revision, young people who want to party all night and then
go into either college or work without sleeping, and countless others
who just want a high, or who think it might be a quick way to lose a few
    extra pounds.Amphetamine Addiction
