Against McGavick Before They Were For Him

Brookgreen_reading_9739.jpgThe Times' endorsement of Mike McGav!ck has generated the predictable outrage from HorsesAss and The Stranger, but they make good points. Feit shows that the Times' previous editorials put them at odds with pretty much everything McGav!ck stands for.

This begs the question, does Joni Balter get to write all the editorials though mid-October and then Frank Blethen pushes her aside to write the big ones? I mean we understand the Times editorial board is pretty clueless sometimes, but come on.

When it comes to endorsements, it really shouldn't matter where a paper is located. The endorsement should go to the candidate that the editorial staff feels is most qualified. However, if major political endorsements are handed out because one guy and his son at the paper want a certain politician to win, well then that is a big bowl of wrong.

We are warning you Blethenses, if it wasn't for Pamela Sitt, we would stop buying your paper altogether.

Oh well, it's not like anyone's vote is really going to count anyway.
