Isaiah, Be Careful Out There

(AP) Husky quarterback Isaiah Stanback is out for the year with fractured ribs after a crushing hit by USC linebacker Rey Maualuga.

This is our nightmare, anyway. Face it, Husky fans--the only way that the Dawgs can beat USC is with a Herculean running/passing performance by Stanback, something reminiscent of Marques Tuiasosopo's 300/200 performace in 1999.

Yet such a performance would leave Stanback prone to the huge, fast, hard-hitting USC linebackers. And that could mean an injury to Stanback--which the Huskies simply can't afford.

So maybe they ought to ask him to limit his running, let the backs run even if it isn't working well, forget about the option--even if it means losing this game. After all, there are six more games after this one, maybe (fingers crossed!) seven.

Are we a pussy for thinking the Huskies ought not try too hard to win at SC?

I hear what you are saying and it makes sense, but I'm going to the game and it's my only opportunity to see the resurgent Dawgs this season. After living in LA for a year now, I hate USC more than anything other than Ohio State (I lived there for three years, Go Michigan!) so as much as I want them to succeed the rest of the season, I also would love to see them go all out and beat these chumps just so I can have something to hang over their idiot fans.

I just want to know...was that you on the ref's headset on the last play calling to run off the last 5 seconds so Stanback couldn't get hit on one more play?
