You CAN watch the Husky/Arizona game

The Husky athletic department is doing great work--they've figured out how to televise tomorrow's Husky/Arizona game. No, it won't be on TV, but if you go to Hec Ed they will be showing the Arizona stadium feed there, mixed in with the Husky radio broadcast.

Doors will open at 6pm, the game's at 7pm. There will be concessions for sale, but admission is free!

The game can't be on TV because Fox is showing one Pac-10 night game, Stanford at UCLA. So how did the UW get around the rules? From the press release:

Pac-10 Conference television policies prohibit institutions from televising games that are in direct conflict with conference telecasts. However, they do provide institutions with the opportunity to televise events during those exclusive time periods, provided the telecast appears solely on its campus.

good for UW hustling to do something about the lack of TV for the game. HOWEVER... I'm having flashbacks to the late 70's and "closed circuit presentation" -- this just serves to highlight how crappy the Pac-10's media deals are. Shame on the Pac-10. Also -- it's nice the Dawgs are doing well enough for this to matter!
