50 Ways to Leave Your Blubber

You know that ultramarathoner guy who blew up in the media last year, Dean Karnazes? Now papa's got a brand new corporate-sponsored bag: 50 marathons in 50 days.

Tomorrow in, of all places, Bellevue, he'll run his 14th marathon in 14 days.

Karnazes will run the Seafair Marathon course, which he expects to finish in about four hours or so, according to his promo peeps. They're going to do rolling road closures to accomodate him and and other sporty types who care to join in for one mile or all 26.2. Somehow it's a benefit for kids getting outside and not being fat slobs. So if you've got kids, maybe you should let Uncle Dean babysit them for awhile Saturday morning. Whatever you do, remember that while Karnezes is super-telegenic and energetic and all enduro and shit, Seattle's own Scott Jurek, holds the course record for the Badwater Ultramarathon and won in twice, in 05 and 06, whereas Karnazes only won it once, in 2004. Pussy.
