Who the Fuck is Cesar Jimenez?
He's the Mariners starting pitcher tonight against Oakland.
Jimenez, a winner in the Oh Boy Oberto "2006 Seattle Mariners: Wanna Pitch?" Sweepstakes, stands between the A's and the American League West title, which they would clinch tonight with their 16th straight win over the Mariners.
An A's win would also set a new mark for consecutive wins over a division opponent. Only the 1974 Atlanta Braves have so dominated a division rival, winning 15 straight against the Padres that year.
And, finally, it would be the Mariners' 82nd loss, assuring them of their third consecutive losing season as a team, and Mike Hargrove's sixth consecutive losing season as a manager.
The Season That Drove Ron Fairly Out of Baseball drags on beginning at 7:05. Tickets, shockingly, are still available.
